Solar Eclipse Viewing Stations at GSU

The solar eclipse on August 21st will appear 97% total from Atlanta. GSU astronomers will have several viewing stations set up on the main campus:

  • 25 Park Place Plaza: Telescopes will offer close-up views of the Sun
    before, during, and after the eclipse from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (maximum
    coverage at 2:36 PM).
  • 25 Park Place, Room 223 (2nd floor): Live video streams from NASA and
    Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School will show the total eclipse at various
    locations from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (regardless of Atlanta weather).
  • Langdale Plaza (between Langdale and the Library): Telescopes will offer close-up views of the Sun before, during, and after the eclipse from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (maximum coverage at 2:36 PM).
